Summary
Summary review written by our editors.

The Chill X Pro is a bow designed for serious target shooters wanting a little more performance from their bow. Although this bow will not appeal to the masses looking for a new rig, those in the market for a new target set up will love the additions made to the solid base established with the 2014 Chill X. With a $1499 price tag, shooters better be serious about wanting to improve their tournament archery skills, especially since the upgrades are fairly minimal between the Chill X and the Chill X Pro when factoring in the additional $400. The specifications and the performance come in a wonderful package, and should make a lot of serious tournament shooters very happy. Read full review...

For Mathews to release a bow after the other flagships were released seemed a little strange to some shooters. However, the Chill X was worth the hype and offered something the other AVS powered bows were missing in the eyes of many, and that is a rock solid back wall. The Chill X is one of the best multi-purpose bows on the market in terms of specifications, and after shooting one; it will be hard to find anything wrong with it. The Chill X is a bit pricey at $1099, although it seems to be competitive with other flagship bows on the market in 2014. Those wanting a single bow to use all year round, really owe it to themselves to try out the Chill X. Read full review...

Cons
  • MSRP of $1499
  • Some shooters do not like the look of the Geo Lock riser design
  • 4.23-pounds seems a bit heavy in comparison with other models
  • Same perimeter-weighted AVS cam the Monster bows have featured in the past (although the new Rock Mods offer a slightly different feel on the back end)
