It is not fast: 307 fps IBO and roughly 253 to 270 fps with real hunting arrows put it squarely in whitetail-range territory, not on the western speed chart. What it delivers instead is a rock-steady hold, a warm rosewood grip that repeats, and a low, quiet, low-shock shot that most owners came to genuinely love - more than one bought a second, and a common refrain is that it grouped better than the bow they traded for it. I would hand it to the hunter who values a placid aim and a forgiving miss over headline speed, and to the developing shooter who wants a bow that covers small mistakes. The Bear Truth is a quality bow at a very affordable price. While the factory strings might not last long and could be of better quality, this is a high-performing and quiet bow for the money. While it does not produce super fast IBO speeds, its single cam eccentric system delivers a smooth draw cycle and solid back wall but with a narrow valley. The Truth would fit average shooters who like smooth drawing rigs, are not very passionate about IBO speeds, and are used to narrow valleys.
