Editors' review

The Vendetta XL is a high quality and great shooting bow that has been specifically designed for taller shooters with longer draw lengths. Being accurate and fast at the same time, this rig can be used for both hunting and 3D shooting. With its extremely adjustable and very smooth drawing eccentric system, it has a modest price tag and, therefore, is a great value for money.

Eccentric system

Powering the Vendetta XL to reported IBO speeds reaching 328 fps is PSE's new and highly adjustable L6 Cam. A lot of archers and experts agree that this is a very impressive and efficient cam system. With a unique design, this system represents a mix of hybrid and single cam systems: the top cam looks somewhat like an idler wheel. However the top cam is not an idler wheel and functions differently to deliver high performance and very smooth draw cycle. In addition, this eccentric system has a lot of adjustability: no bow press or new cams/modules are required to adjust the draw length from 26.5" to 32.5". The let-off is 75%.

Draw cycle / Shootability / Quietness

We were overwhelmed with the number of very positive comments indicating the Vendetta XL is a great shooting bow. First of all, its draw cycle is extremely smooth as noted by many archers and experts. They say it's as smooth as butter. This is quite impressive given this rig is impressively fast. Also, this rig has a pretty solid back wall, sits in the hand very well, and aims easily. The Vendetta XL is a lightweight bow for a long AtA length (35"). When it comes to shock and vibration, a bare bow could be a bit quieter. However, installing a stabilizer and other silencing components will help to improve shootability and make it one of the best shooting bows in 2010.

Great bow for hunting and 3D shooting

With its long AtA length (35"), forgiving brace height (7.25"), and high IBO ratings (up to 328 fps), the Vendetta XL is a great bow for both hunting and 3D shooting. We agree with many archers who say this bow can be used for both activities due to its great shootability characteristics, high accuracy, and fast speeds.

Factory strings

Some shooters say the factory strings on the Vendetta XL could be of better quality. While you can still get great life out of the stock strings, many archers say they just buy a better quality set once the factory strings are worn.

Value for money

Many shooters firmly believe this high quality bow is underpriced and is a great value for money. With a modest price tag, the Vendetta XL is as good (or even better) as some of its more expensive competitors with similar specifications and shootabilty characteristics.

Summary

To conclude, the Vendetta XL is a high quality and great shooting bow with extremely adjustable and very smooth drawing eccentric system. With a pretty solid back wall, this bow holds very well and aims easily. While a bare bow could have less vibration, when fully equipped this rig is an amazing shooter. Many experts and archers agree this is one of the best shooting bows introduced in 2010. Designed specifically for taller shooters with longer draw lengths, this rig is ideal for both hunting and 3D shooting. While it's a high quality bow, the Vendetta XL has a modest price tag and, therefore, is a great value for money.

    Full review:
Shot for shot, smooth draw cycle. Solid backwall. Never felt that way in all the bows I’ve shot and owned. I got rid of most bows I owned to get this bow. Vibration is noticeable. Added 8" Vibrachek Omega stab on one of the Vendetta XL while the other one have the 7" Vibrachek Isolator. Noticed balance and vibration reduced. Am gonna add Limbsaver Split Limbsavers on it. Recommended by PSE Dealer to greatly improve more on less recoil. Enough said! I ended up owning 2 of them now. That tells you how much I love the way it feels in my hand. Very well balanced. One bow set at 29" DL, 62 lbs, 370 grains arrow shooting 290 FPS while the other set at 29" DL, 65 lbs, 380 grains arrow shooting closer to 300 FPS. That’s PLENTY fast for me!

PSE SHOULD KEEP THIS BOW IN THERE LINE UP. AND DON’T TRY TO IMPROVE IT! My bow set at 60 lbs. 28.5 " draw, Shoots a 376 gr. Arrow at 290 fps. Now I’ve shot allot of bows over the years! But I remember having to struggle to get a bow set at 65 + lbs. And only a 345 gr. Arrow and you would struggle to get 280 fps out of it!
This bow is fast and shoots straight.
