The BowTech Mighty Mite is the small-but-mighty hunter of the brand's early-2000s catalog - a bow named after a premature baby who beat the odds, built to prove that a genuinely tiny bow could carry full 60-to-70-pound hunting power and a 310s-to-320s IBO speed. For roughly $600 in the mid-2000s you got a machined-aluminum BowTech in the smallest, quickest package the company made, with an adjustable 65-80 percent let-off, a 25-to-30 inch draw range that fits shorter-draw adults, and - on the 2004-2005 VFT version - a vibration-damping riser and a narrow grip that fixed the earlier bow's one real weak spot. Real-world speed lands near 306 fps with a hunting arrow, the shot is quiet and accurate once a damper or two is on it, and the light, compact frame is a genuine advantage in a climber or a blind. What stays with me about the Mighty Mite is how cleanly it committed to its idea: it never pretended to be a forgiving long-riser target bow, it simply gave the compact-bow hunter real power and speed and asked for a little discipline in return.
