Mathews Z7 Magnum | Mathews Z7 Xtreme | Mathews Z7
Summary Summary review written by our editors. | The Z7 Magnum is the fastest single cam bow in Mathew's 2011 fleet. With a fast but very shootable ZX Single Cam, a comfortable grip, and parallel limb design, the Magnum could be shot well by any archer who has a little experience. Being extremely quiet and vibration free when shot only with the standard accessories provided by the manufacturer, it is amazing that this single cam can produce such speed and yet be that smooth and that quiet. Retailing $999.00, the Z7 Magnum is in the realm of the market price for high end performance bows, but may be out of reach for some archers. Read full review... | The Mathews Z7 Xtreme is a very compact and high quality bow with the same impressive shootability characteristics as the original Z7. While the eccentric system is cam specific, each cam is optimized to deliver the best possible performance. Although it's a little bit stiff to draw compared to the easiest drawing bows, the draw cycle on the Z7 Xtreme is very smooth and the bow is pretty fast for a single cam rig. With a very forgiving brace height and efficient cam system, this is a high performing rig from draw to release. Also, the Z7 Xtreme is outfitted with a high quality silencing package, making it very quiet bow with little hand shock and vibration. While it's shorter AtA length may not suit some long draw length shooters (because of the sharp string angle), this rig will be ideal for short-to-medium draw length archers who enjoy shooting shorter bows or need a great rig for tree-stand or blind hunting. Read full review... | The Mathews Z7 is a unique bow that effectively bridges the gap between speed and smoothness. With a forgiving brace height and efficient single cam eccentric system, this bow is a top performer and has a relatively smooth draw cycle. Equipped with a very effective silencing package, the Z7 is a quiet bow with minimal jump and vibration. While the draw length is not adjustable without changing the cam, the proprietary Mathews QCA system simplifies changing the cams significantly. Although the Z7's unique and fresh riser is very light and efficient, some archers are not sure about its appearance. At 30" axle-to-axle length, this lightweight rig is a great choice for tree stand and blind hunters or those hunters who cover a lot of ground carrying the bow all day long. Read full review...
